Back on April 27th, we shared with you the key details of our re-opening plan:1. State and local approval to open.

2. Guidance from state and local officials and the Massachusetts Cosmetology Board regarding new procedures and protocols for re-opening.

3. The appropriation of necessary PPE equipment for our employees and guests.

We are making progress as items 1 and 2 have been successfully achieved. We are almost there.
.
Over the last 6 weeks we carefully and thoroughly researched other states’ reopening requirements for hair salons and the recommendations of industry experts and consultants and made purchases based on these requirements. In some situations, out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our guests and employees, we went above and beyond other states’ minimum requirements. Yesterday, when Massachusetts released their requirements for hair salons, we were happy to see that our efforts paid off as there were only a couple of items that we had not anticipated but were easy to obtain.
Unfortunately, several of our shipments of necessary supplies that were placed weeks ago have either been backordered or shipment has been delayed and are not scheduled to arrive for a few weeks. Therefore, we are sorry to say that we will be forced to delay our re-opening until June 15th. We understand your frustration and ask for patience as we try to acquire the necessary supplies we need to safely re-open.

We have been monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic in Massachusetts and following the advice of state and local officials. In putting together our re-opening plan, there are three things necessary for us to safely open.1.State and local approval to open
2.Guidance from state and local officials and the Massachusetts Cosmetology Board regarding new procedures and protocols for re-opening.
3.The appropriation of necessary PPE equipment for our employees and guests.
Until all three conditions are met, Mop will be unable to resume operation. Unfortunately, at this time, none of the above conditions have been met to our satisfaction and therefore we are extending our closure date until June 1st. We cannot, in good conscience, open our doors until we can do it safely for both our employees and our guests. Please note that the June 1st date is tentative and as we have seen, could be extended further. You can be certain that everyone here at Mop is working very hard to ensure that we are able to open as soon as possible. We share your frustration and ask for patience and understanding as we negotiate this unique and difficult time.

We have completed a sanitation refresher course to ensure the health & safety of our guests and employees. We strive to always provide a safe environment at Mop. Please DM us about any health or safety concerns for your future reservation!
Unfortunately, due to the spread of COVID-19, the governor of Massachusetts has extended the closure of non-essential business through May 4th. We have gone ahead and cancelled your appointment and kindly ask you to reschedule your appointment using our online booking portal (link in bio). Appointments will be available starting on Tuesday, May 5th. If you are having trouble finding an appointment, you can reach out to your stylist. Stay healthy 💛
It’s with a heavy heart that we announce that Mop will be temporarily closing for the next 4 weeks. We don’t make this decision lightly but feel like this is the correct move to not only protect our guests and our employees, but to hopefully Flatten The Curve and do our part to stop the transmission of COVID-19.If you have an appointment with us during the next 4 weeks, you will receive an email with instructions on how to rebook your appointment.
We will reopen our doors on Monday, April 13th.
