I loved creating this beautiful blonde color last week at the salon. Her hair was very grown out, as a recent move had kept her from her regular appointment. Admittedly, I am by trade a hair colorist. I can honestly say that I have not jumped on the bandwagon of everyone “ going grey” after the shutdowns. To each their own, but most people look better with some color ( the right color!) in their hair. If you are looking for someone to turn your hair silver, I’m just not that person. It’s harsh on the hair, and not the aesthetic I strive to create. This pretty lady tried the white, and didn’t want to keep it, so we found her a happy medium. A softer, translucent color that gave her some coverage, but was not as dark as the one process that she used to have. There’s usually a place between all or nothing, and it might just be the prettiest result for you. This was not a dimensional foil, it was a color correction. 99% of the time at the salon, we make sure to get a photo of our clients hair as it currently is, before they come in for their first appointment. This helps us to be sure that there is adequate time booked for each client, and that we have them on the schedule for the proper service. Although we do use foils for many of our color corrections, we tend to use more of them, spend more time, and use (much) more color to make the larger changes needed for a color conversion or correction. Generally speaking, the more “different” you would like your hair to look, the more work we will need to do to make the changes. The best way to book an appointment as a first time client at the salon is to call us at 617-236-8100 so that we may assist you in finding the right appointment for your hair goals.

I was chatting with my mom on zoom today and talking about how I had so many more lines on my face since the shutdown this year. The stress, working hard to keep a business going and different projects has shown up externally. I always try to be grateful though, and I know that some people may never age enough to start to show lines on their face. As much as we all love to stay young, there’s something to be said for having been on this earth for long enough to begin to age. Fortunate to be living my 44th year.
